Free Monitoring of School-issued Accounts

Available to all K-12 schools across the U.S., Bark for Schools monitors G Suite and Office 365 for signs of cyberbullying, suicidal ideation, sexual predators, school shootings, and more.

Bark for Schools was developed as a response to the tragic Parkland shooting, as a way to help schools protect students at no cost to them or their communities.

One year later, Bark for Schools had become the trusted partner of 1,000 school districts — with more than 80 joining every month.

As a free service for schools, Bark is on a mission to help protect kids online and in real life. No matter what’s in your EdTech infrastructure — content filters, camera systems, or even digital citizenship curricula — Bark provides an extra layer to your school safety toolkit.

Partner with Parents

Bark’s Family Alerts Dashboard enables schools to partner with parents to monitor their students’ accounts. Bark requires parent/guardian contact information in case we detect a severe or imminent threat on a school-issued account when classes aren’t in session. These events can happen after hours, over the weekend, and during holidays — times when a staff member may not be available to respond to time-sensitive alerts.

Smart and Agile

What makes your company invaluable is that you continue to grow and adapt to the real world, especially in the K-12 space, to make sure that your product is on the leading edge ... It’s good to see a company that continues to care, and also grows the product to accommodate the students to keep them as safe as possible at all times.

The real deal

Bark for Schools is the real deal. We didn’t have any sort of content scanning before getting Bark. Within a few days, Bark found multiple issues that would have gone unnoticed if we hadn’t been scanning Gmail and Hangouts. When an issue arose that could have been life-threatening for one of our students, a Bark team member called our school to help us take correct action.

Provides free insight

I’m a fan of anything that provides better insight into what’s going on with students, and the fact that Bark can do that for free is even better.

Today’s students face greater dangers than those that came before them. External threats like cyberbullying and school shootings have them on edge, and threats like self-harm and suicidal ideation confront them from within. Bark and Safe and Sound Schools are teaming up to combat this problem, knowing we can make a huge impact.

Founded by Michele Gay and Alissa Parker after both of them lost a child in the devastating Sandy Hook shooting, Safe and Sound Schools provides research-based tools and resources for crisis prevention, response, and recovery to help protect every school and every student, every day.
