About us
For a decade, Bark has supported families and teens in navigating technology safely.
Our digital safety products help protect over 7 million children at home and in more than 3,700 schools and districts nationwide.
As technology has evolved over those 10 years, so have the needs of teens and young adults online. New threats constantly arise, more research shows the correlation between screen time and mental health, and cell phones and social media translate to 24/7 access to anyone with a phone.
Today, Bark Community Partners works hand in hand with a broad network of community organizations — including schools, nonprofits, local funders, treatment centers, and state agencies — to address online safety from every angle. By equipping these partners with tools, training, and support, we help strengthen community-wide efforts to safeguard vulnerable populations and promote digital well-being for all.
It’s time for a new approach to online safety
Bark offers an internet safety solution that touches on prevention through education and training, in addition to technology that supports intervention when it is most crucial.
Online safety starts early.
Bark’s Connected Communities is a unique, affordable program that works hand-in-hand with schools to build lasting digital skills—right when kids need them most. We go beyond curriculum by:

Early, skill-based, and collaborative—this is the future of online safety education.
Technology to keep up with today’s threats
The AI in Bark’s products helps protect individuals online by identifying situations that are potentially harmful to physical or mental well-being by focusing on:

Better outcomes with a single partner
Safety
The purpose of our devices and monitoring software is singular: safety. Functionality is centered around identifying dangerous scenarios for intervention. Bark’s alerts cover issues like self-harm, suicidal ideation, disordered eating, cyberbullying, grooming, drugs and alcohol, violence, phishing, sextortion, and many more.
On the Bark Phone, caregivers can also manage app or website access, establish contact permissions for calls and texts, and utilize location tracking. As digital skills improve, gradually re-introducing more digital freedoms enables a milestone based approach to full access.

Mental wellness
4 in 10 teens engaged in conversations around anxiety and/or depression in 2024 according to Bark’s Annual Report. The numbers are clear across other categories as well: adolescents are not feeling safe online, and it is negatively impacting their mental health. Bark offers a large number of alert categories (26) because those behavioral insights are crucial in getting the right help to someone before issues escalate.

Digital well-being
Bark is committed to helping youth and adults develop a healthy relationship with technology. To develop the necessary skills to do that requires ongoing internet safety education and training, and a coordinated effort across parents, schools, and communities. Bark offers on-site and virtual options for digital citizenship training, in addition to seeking partnerships that raise awareness around evolving dangers facing youth online.
