Tumble Science Podcast for Kids is aptly named for a program dedicated to sharing fascinating scientific discoveries to kids. Hosted by Lindsay Patterson and Marshall Escamilla, the show covers a new topic in each episode, usually about 25 minutes long. The fun facts and lessons are interspersed with jokes, fun music, and guest appearances from experts in the field. 

As you can likely guess, Tumble is a safe podcast for most ages. But it’s always good practice to double-check the content we give our kids access to! So here’s everything parents need to know about Tumble.

This podcast was written and created for kids, specifically around ages 6–12. The content is kept light-hearted and engaging. A few examples of episode topics include plastic pollution, how our vision works, the science of fungi, the Big Bang theory, inside an atom, and so much more. One recent episode is intriguing titled, “Did Dinosaurs burp?” 

Some parents may want to know that occasional episodes discuss things such as pooping and farting, and light potty humor can be expected.

There is no profanity or adult language in Tumble.

Violence 

There is largely no violent content in this podcast, aside from topics around animal death (i.e., predators who hunt and kill prey). However, these are always presented in an educational manner, not graphic or gory.

They also emphasize the importance of being a “helping scientist”, or one who uses scientific knowledge to better the world around them. Overall, Tumble is not only a safe podcast, but an empowering one for young, developing minds!

So, should my kid listen to it?

Absolutely! This podcast is best suited to kids around 6–12, but even younger and older listeners can enjoy it as well.
