Here’s What Happened When I Gave My Child a Smartwatch Instead of a Phone
There are several smartwatches on the market for kids. We tried out a few with our son and prefer one that is simple to use and also focuses on safety. The Bark watch allows him to easily call and text us. He’s only allowed to communicate with contacts that I’ve added to his watch. Texts also come directly into my inbox.

Our adventurous 4 year old decided to wander off from the group and explore Disneyland on his own. After an initial moment of parental panic, we were able to locate his Bark Watch immediately from the app and walk straight to him. Bark saved the day!

The Bark Watch Is Safety at Your Child’s Wrist
With GPS tracking, texting, and no internet browsing, here’s a simple, secure way for kids to stay connected without the risks of internet access.

I bought my daughter the watch as I want to ease her into a phone. I wanted her to have something to where she can contact me if need be. I also LOVE the fact that I can control who she is able to text during school hours so I know she is learning and the watch isn't a distraction.

Bark Watch vs Gabb Watch: A Comparison for Parents
Two of the biggest names in the space currently are Bark and Gabb. Both promise safety, simplicity, and connection, but if you look closer, one offers far more than the other. This article takes a deep dive into both watches to see how they stack up.

Our 6-year-old LOVES his Bark Watch! He can text grandparents, and we can track his location wherever he's at. And he loves taking photos with the camera! It's been such an easy and safer way to introduce him to technology.

This watch gives me peace of mind, and it really has been worth every penny. As a grandmother, I definitely recommend it for any family that wants to stay connected and keep track of their little ones!

Our family loves Bark! It's been the best way to give the kids a way to communicate and keep up with their friends at school without the nonsense of alternative phones with little to no parental controls.

We’ve had the Bark Watch and I love how simple and reliable it is. It’s great for calling and texting a few approved contacts. What I really like is that it’s fully locked down—no internet, no app store, just the basics, which makes it way less stressful to manage.

This is a game-changer! With one press, my child can instantly alert me in case of an emergency.

I got this watch for my daughter especially for her upcoming field trip with school so I could track her location. It was very easy to set up. She now loves calling grandma by herself using this watch and it's so cute. Also, the watch is very comfy to wear. She tried wearing it from morning til night and no complain. Great product. Highly recommend for parents with school aged kids.

I like that Bark Watch doesn't have games, apps, or web browsers. Rather, the emphasis is on communication with trusted contacts. Previously, she had another watch and we had issues with spam calls coming in from unknown numbers. I like that Bark automatically blocks anyone who isn't a contact in her watch.

My honest Bark Watch review
A smartwatch has been on my youngest daughter’s wish list for quite some time. While several smartwatches are on the market and offer many of the same features, it’s vital for me that they be safe for kids. After much research, I found Bark Watch and its features most impressive.

We ditched our Gabb watch because it was one problem after another. Got a Bark watch and liked it so much we got one for our younger kid too! GPS has been great, and the watch just generally does what they say it will!

Love love this phone, my 4 year old has the watch and my 9 year old has the phone. The monitoring controls trump any other options on the market. Google family, Life 360, Apple parent controls etc nothing has compared.
